Bandai Namco has unveiled "Gakuen The Idolmaster" for iOS and Android, scheduled for release this spring in Japan. Pre-registration is currently open through the App Store, Google Play, and the official website.

In this new installment, Gakuen Idolmaster unfolds at Hatsuboshi Academy, featuring a specialized Idol major alongside regular study courses. The academy also introduces a Producer major in its vocational college. Upon graduation, both Idol and Producer students will join an as-yet-unnamed talent production agency. The headmaster of the academy, Kunio Juo, will be voiced by Akio Ohtsuka, renowned for roles such as Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid and Anavel Gato in Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory.

At launch, Gakuen Idolmaster will showcase nine characters, with the first three already revealed. Kotone Fujita, voiced by Hikaru Iida, specializes in the "kawaii/cute" genre. Temari Tsukimura, voiced by Nao Ojika, represents the "blue" line of idols with superior vocals and stoic personalities. Saki Hanami, voiced by Aoi Nagatsuki, serves as the overall poster girl for the title.

More characters will be gradually revealed every Wednesday, with the fourth character set to debut in a livestream on March 13, 2024. Bandai Namco has released individual trailers for the first three characters, offering a glimpse into their unique characteristics and performances.
