Chinese Famous CG Artist Challenges AI in Drawing
Since the rise of the AI trend, AI painting has sparked a lot of controversy in China's gaming industry. Today, Ruan Jia, the well-known CG artist in the gaming industry initiated a very interesting topic on Weibo, which became a hot topic in the Chinese gaming industry.
Ruan Jia publicly announced the rule for a competition between his own artwork and AI painting on his Weibo account. He provided a rough sketch of his own version of Valkyrie, a famous boss in Elden Ring, which roughly outlined the angle, motion, and overall lighting. He said 30 minutes later, he would release the complete version of his own artwork. Players had half an hour to use AI to refine his draft, and then compare their works to his final artwork.

When the 30-minute deadline arrived, not many works were created using AI, so he postponed the deadline by an hour. Then various AI-generated works were gradually posted, and most of them were of poor quality, some even very comical.
Regarding this, Ruan Jia said on Weibo, "I am not against the progress of technology (although I think these things are only so-so for now). No one can stop the wheels of history. If that technology takes your job away, I will still fight professionally to the end (if it really can replace human beings). I don't think we should insult those who lost their jobs due to this wave of impact and those who have worked hard. I feel uncomfortable seeing them being humiliated. You should not gloat over their misfortune. This is my attitude."

His words also won the approval of many other artists, who were touched. They said AI still cannot surpass humans. What do you think about this?
