WHERE WINDS MEET is an open world game developed by Chinese game developer EVERSTONE. According to reports, the game is more than 60% complete and is expected to be officially released next year. The game officially debuted at the 2022 Gamescom ONL press conference on August 24 and brought a 5-minute real-life first exposure video.

”Create legends in a time of unrest in Where Winds Meet is an interactive open world game featuring action, adventure and martial arts. As a swordsman, you must face the tough choices in a swordsman’s destiny, as division and unrest are about to come to an end on the stage of the Northern Song Dynasty.“

EVERSTONE's goal is not an MMO, but an open-world RPG game with a unique Chinese martial arts feel. It will be divided into single-player mode and multiplayer mode, and will be released on all platforms. Currently, it is mainly focusing on the research and development of the PC side.

"Where Winds Meet" is a game of grander proportions. Its open world appears to be a fusion of modern Zelda and The Witcher, bolstered by an RPG system boasting an astonishing array of statistics, abilities, and skills. "Where Winds Meet" appears to aspire to more than being just an open-world swashbuckler, although I'm still uncertain whether this ambition is wholly advantageous.

Players had a forty-five-minute trial period during Gamescom 2023, based on feedback from the experience. After going through the brief combat tutorial and encountering what is arguably the most complex character creation screen they've ever encountered (allowing adjustments for everything from the angle of the cheekbones to the size of the columella), were seamlessly immersed in an open world.

This game not only has battles and the main storyline, but the NPCs in it also have their own lives. They are even equipped with simple AI technology to have conversations with players. In feedback from internal tests and trials, players even jokingly called them "quarrels emulator".
