SaGa Emerald Beyond Features Bonnie and Formina in New Gameplay Trailer Ahead of 25 April Release
Square Enix has released a new trailer for the upcoming JRPG adventure SaGa Emerald Beyond, which is scheduled for release on 25 April 2024 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, and iOS and Android devices. The trailer introduces two characters, Bonnie and Formina, and continues the trend of the development team releasing new trailers.
SaGa Emerald Beyond is the latest standalone entry in the SaGa series, which is known for blending time-honoured features to create a unique gaming experience for every player. The game features a dynamic combat system with elements such as glimmers, combos and a diverse cast of characters including monsters, mechs and vampires. Players can create a unique narrative path influenced by individual choices and actions.
The game unfolds across 17 different worlds, each accessible from the Junction, showcasing different cultures and landscapes. The narrative follows six protagonists, each with unique backgrounds and goals, as they embark on five unique story arcs. The player's choices have a significant impact on the story, leading to different paths even when replayed with the same protagonist. This narrative richness positions SaGa Emerald Beyond as one of the most story-intensive titles in the SaGa series, offering multiple story branches and potential endings based on player choices and actions.
SaGa Emerald Beyond's combat system builds on the strategic timeline battles of the SaGa series. Key features include the Glimmer system for on-the-fly skill acquisition, tactical formation placement, and United Attacks for powerful skill combinations. The refined combat experience allows players to influence the course of battle through timely allied support, enemy action disruption, and strategic manipulation of allied action orders. Player autonomy extends to character selection, weapon choice, party formation and combat tactics, ensuring a personalised and immersive gameplay experience.
While pre-orders and pre-registrations are not yet available for mobile, you can add SaGa Emerald Beyond to wishlist on Steam.
