NCSoft (referred to as NC) has officially confirmed that the game previously known as "Project BSS", which was announced at the Busan International Game Show "G-STAR 2023" in South Korea, will be called "Hoyeon" in Taiwan. The game is expected to be released in the second half of this year. The name "Hoyeon" comes from protagonist Liu Xue's family, "Hoyeon Gate", which symbolises "the destiny formed in the vast world". It encompasses the adventures of Liu Xue and the stories of various heroes who join her on her journey.

World and story

The world of "Hoyeon" is based on events that took place three years earlier in the PC MMORPG "Blade & Soul". The protagonist, Liu Xue, embarks on a journey to rebuild his family. Players will also experience the stories of the original heroes as these classic characters guide the narrative.

Gameplay

Hoyeon introduces a new RPG gameplay concept known as "Switching RPG". It combines real-time field battles with turn-based card battle mechanics to create a unique core gameplay experience. This allows players to immerse themselves in strategic team building and combat operations, offering a fresh take on RPG fun.

Game Features

NC has revealed various aspects of the game through the Hoyeon trailer website, including the world setting, hero and team composition, and combat characteristics. The game features more than 60 unique heroes, including handsome men, beautiful women, the popular Physic Tribe, beastmen and seasoned warriors. Players can also download exclusive Hoyeon emoticons and dynamic wallpapers for free.

Alongside the release of the trailer site, official social interface have been launched on platforms such as Facebook and YouTube. NC plans to use these accounts to share the latest news and updates on Hoyeon.
