Com2uS (representing Lee Joohwan)’s mobile survival game "Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice" has received positive responses from local users in the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines, and has entered the early access phase. The main praise is for capturing the unique sensibility and atmosphere of the original PC console-based work on mobile devices.

"Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice" is the mobile version of the acclaimed survival game "Frostpunk," which has sold over 3 million copies worldwide. Developed jointly by the original developer, 11bit Studio, and NetEase, the latter has produced several heavyweight IP mobile games such as "Diablo: Immortal" and "Harry Potter: Magic Awakened."

Similar to the original, the game tells the story of humanity suddenly facing an ice age, managing a city composed of giant steam engines, and gathering more survivors in extreme environments to survive. In addition to the emotional and enjoyable stories unique to the original, there are also features exclusive to the mobile version such as "Weather Station," "Exploration," and "Animal Rescue Center," allowing users to enjoy the fun while interacting. The game's main selling point is hardcore survival, where all values and resources such as population, resources, environment, and technology need to be precisely controlled and anticipated, as any misstep could lead to the game's end.

Since the end of January, Com2uS has released the new game "Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice" in the form of early access in three major markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines, before its official global launch. In fact, "Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice" still maintains high user ratings on the Apple App Store, with a score of 4.6 (out of 5), and on Google Play Store with a score of 4.3, with the number of new users steadily increasing since its launch.

Mobile players generally believe that the music and graphics effectively convey the dystopian worldview, texture of snow, and coldness of the ice age. Particularly, it is said that the continuous snowstorms, along with eerie music, highlight the game's depiction of extreme conditions. One user praised the opening video, stating that the director captured the unique harsh reality of "Frostpunk" very well.

The new charm exclusive to the mobile version has also been well received. In "Frostpunk: Beyond the Ice," the proportion of city management in building and developing cities has increased compared to the original, believed to be very suitable for users' tastes and the mobile environment. Users have given positive feedback on the unique features of the mobile game, such as "a mobile city-building game that combines the steampunk atmosphere very well" and "I especially like the enhanced city-building elements compared to the original version."
