"Dune: Awakening" is an upcoming open-world, multiplayer survival MMO developed by Funcom, set to immerse players in the harsh desert planet of Arrakis. Scheduled for release in early 2025, the game aims to blend survival mechanics with the rich lore of the Dune universe.

Survival in the Desert

Players begin as prisoners sent on a secret mission by the Bene Gesserit to find the Fremen. After a crash landing in the Hagar Basin, they must navigate the perils of Arrakis, including extreme temperatures, sandstorms, and the ever-present threat of sandworms. Survival mechanics emphasize resource gathering, shelter building, and environmental awareness. 

Base Building and Exploration

The game features intuitive base-building mechanics, allowing players to construct shelters and fortresses using collected resources. Exploration is key, with players traversing diverse terrains, from rocky landscapes to vast deserts, all while managing their stillsuits to conserve water.
