Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince will be released on September 11 for PC via Steam, as well as for iOS and Android. The game initially launched for the Nintendo Switch on December 1, 2023.

The upcoming versions for PC, iOS, and Android will include all downloadable content from the Switch version, but will not feature the “Online Battles” network mode.

Overview of the PC Version

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince is coming to Steam, allowing players to build their own teams of monsters from across the Dragon Quest series and engage in thrilling battles. Players can recruit monsters from the wild and synthesize them into new creatures. With over 500 monsters to choose from and an enhanced synthesis system, players can mix and match to create unique teams of both familiar and new monsters.

Story

The protagonist, Psaro, is cursed and unable to harm any being with monster blood. To overcome this, he must become a Monster Wrangler and create an army for battle.

Psaro’s journey takes him through the ever-changing seasons and unique environments of Nadiria, such as rivers of bubbling lava and ancient ruins. Along the way, he meets Rose, a kind-hearted elf who joins him on his quest to seek out stronger monsters. The key to Psaro’s success lies in synthesis—the ability to combine two monsters to create a stronger offspring—bringing him closer to becoming the Master of Monsterkind.

Key Features

  • A Wondrous World Awaits: Nadiria’s changing seasons reveal new monsters and undiscovered areas, providing a fresh experience with each visit.
