Tencent's latest game from the Gujian IP, Ash Echoes, has quickly risen to the top of the free apps list on China's App Store. The game's official website reports over 10 million pre-orders, and it is now available on both Android and iOS.

Ash Echoes is built on the Unreal 4 engine and features real-time 3D combat. Positioned as a role-playing and strategy game, it takes place in the year 1116 of the Senluo calendar, on the 1st of April at 13:46. A colossal void materialised over the northern sector of the city of Hailin, leading to the descent of a shattered world. Subsequently, crystals imbued with an unknown energy emerged from the ruins, ushering humans into a new era - an epoch defined by the coexistence of 'White Thorn Technology' and mysterious energy.

Within the game, players can choose from seven different professions, each with its own unique characteristics. The combat system blends real-time combat, strategy and role-playing elements, introducing facets of gameplay such as chess, cards and tower defence to create a multi-faceted experience.
